Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

New policies

Taking a great risk here by saying this... but the support on shoplifters more than their own employees and customers says it all. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Has anyone noticed since pc upgrades that cameras are now closer to watch every move of cashiers and pharm tecs. They are more concerned with treating their employees as thieves then the actual shoplifters.

Other retailers have the same policies on shoplifting. I was in Lowes the other day and their alarm went off, the cashier just said "oh well, I cant do anything to stop him anyways now". How many employees need to get stabbed or shot before a company says don't put yourself in harms way? We have them on 12 different cameras, let the police do their job and stay out of harms way! Also, the comoany loses more with lawsuits and payouts over false shoplifting accusations then they do in product from real shoplifting. Get over it, this is the way retail is going and there are safety and financial reasons for it.

We have a woman who comes in at least once a week and steals cosmetics (South Chicago Area).
She makes more money stealing than I working full time here.
Sad.

I totally agree with you on the shoplifting. We have a back stairs at our store so they come up and get what they want and go down the stairs, there is no one in the area of the stairs at all times so they get away with it and even if someone is there they just walk right pass them like they actually paid for the stuff and all we can do is watch them and do sh– about it

When I worked for Walgreens a few months ago, we literally had a dude fill up an entire shopping cart of expensive stuff and he walked right past me out the door without paying for any of it. And we weren't allowed to do anything. I could have grabbed the cart and pulled it back into the store, but then I would have been fired. We're expected to go, "lol there goes $500 worth of product, oh well ‾_(ツ)_/‾"
When we went to the "non-bias meeting", the corporate woman straight up said "if you step outside the store, you will be terminated."
Shoplifters need to stop being protected, they need to face the consequence of robbing a business.
Everyone would be better off quitting Walgreens and resorting to stealing from the store since they won't do anything about it. They won't call the police, ban you from the store, say anything to you. Why work for them when you can steal from them?
