Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Boots Alliance Is The Issue

I have been with Walgreens for 19 years. Ever since we partnered with Boots our company has went down hill. No more senior beauty advisors, no more photo managers, then CCR, simplify, and hour cuts like every week. Now they've cahnged a lot of store hours.Closing at 8, what is that?? They only want 1 employee working the checkout and a shift lead working. Walgreens/Boots no lonfer care about customers or employees. Not to mention when a thief comes 8n we are no lomg allowed to stop/adress/speak to them about taking our merchandise, almost asif we encourage it. It's a shame many of us have stayed with this company for so many years.

Try being a vendor for Walgreens. They just moved all payment terms to 105 day end of month so we literally could wait over 120 days to get paid for doing repairs and/or maintenance to the stores. And they want us to bill by the minute as well. The kicker is the CPI credits they want. If you miss a KPI as a vendor you could have to pay them potentially over 15% of your invoices. Using the term "vendor partner" only means they want more from us like lower and lower rates. They do not seem to be putting as much into "partnering" with their vendors.

We are so understaffed as it is. Walgreens better take a look at all the stores that were popular when I was a kid in the 70s. They were as huge as Walgreens & now out of business (Marshall Fields, Woolworths, Sears, Venture, Payless, Kmart, Kresgie... put some staff on. Customers get angry.

Benefits have been slashed starting 10 years ago. Costing hourly employees thousands. While the Corporate clowns continue with 6 figure salary and million dollar bonus'.

I have been with Walgreens almost 13 years. Why I have stayed so long is beyond me. I have made some very special bonds with my customers and my coworkers, whom I see more than my family. We work short handed every other month because we can not keep hell in pharmacy. Shouldn’t bite off the hand that feeds you corporate!!!!

Does Walgreens even know what type of company they want to be? They focus on beauty/cosmetics more now and are changing the inside of some stores to reflect that. But then they also want to be a FedEx location and it seems like they don't want to be an actual store anymore.

There are way too many pharmacies, and we under-invested in our stores and our people.

That's why things are going south.
