Thread regarding Nutanix layoffs

Got word of a restructure today - any truth to the rumors?

Heard from a good source that there's about to be a "restructuring event" - anyone have any inside info?

It's a giant company; there is EMC which is like a federation of smaller companies and then there's the Dell side.

They're still merging units/jobs so in a sense redundancy may go away or be merged like IT helpdesk, HR and other resources.

But current positions are aligning like how Dell manages things overall too. This may have shifts but a massive company wide shift? Not really expected.

In my experience people usually leave the giant company as the "grass is greener" mindset for other companies. So if they do this may offset the real need for this. If it's a dying product that's also not as valuable long term or doesn't have future products then I would see it being an issue and need to but that is only for something you know is slowing down and it has too many resources.

If anything; it's good to be cautious and more with your skillsets for the market but I would consider Dell EMC is far more stable, secure and better especially if an Economic Recession does happen which financial analysts have been saying for the next few years is expected. Given this; it probably would be far riskier to go to a company like a Startup or other locations that are having issues now when it's easier on the market vs growing market and profits overall.

And then as the debt is eradicated long term; benefits increase long term and more. So Dell EMC does compete along a huge range of products so it really depends. One team at one location could be completely different from other locations.
