Thread regarding Dril-Quip Inc. layoffs

Honest opinions and feedback please

I don’t work for DQ but have been offered some contact service work with them. I’ve historically worked for FMC and GE/Vetco and don’t know much about DQ.
Website researching and it looks like some pretty decent and fit for purpose kit. I know DQ has always been strong in drilling and connectors but is there any solid growth in the companies future ?

I can find much towards press releases on contract awards and seems like stock hasn’t been performing at all but that’s common for all OFS in recent years.

Any honest feedback to help me decide is much appreciated. The day rate is not bad and no alarm bells so far aside from I can’t really get an answer as to how much work there actually is.
Thanks in advance 👍

Anytime you put a bean counter over a manufacturing operation your financial outlook will look good until you close the doors or find a buyer dumb enough to buy your cooked books. The last COO was the last person with any manufacturing background, God bless you Jim. Blake is ready to move to his vineyard. I have watched a lot of good people leave. A great company that wouldn’t change with the times.

Don’t do it. Blind leading the blind. Terrible moral and many-management changes meaning that there is dislocation too all departments. General team environment does not exist and people currently out for themselves. Sad as had great potential

There are some excellent engineers but beware of the lazy backstabbing ones.
You’ll know which one is the worst
