Culp said we are only in the second inning

There Are More Layoffs to come for Power

“I don’t know if we’re in the bottom of the second inning at this point,” Culp told Barron’s, using a familiar baseball analogy applied to the entire company. It’s still early. That’s true for GE Power, too. At least, based on initial actions taken in the division, investors can say the company is up a couple of runs in the bottom of the second inning.

2nd Inning? Can we at least finish the game and then file for bankruptcy?

It's only the second inning and GE is the "Bad News Bears". Led by Coach Larry Morris Buttermaker. "Two, Four, Six, Eight. Who do we appreciate? Bears! Bears! Yeah!"

Speed does not matter if it grossly impairs overall efficacy of managerial oversight. This culture is known for historically having placed premium on the speed of execution — just for the sake of it. This myopic fixation on managing to absurd timelines has ruined many a project, deliverable, deal. It was only a matter of time before total implosion ensued. Perhaps it is high time for the company to have a leader who understands the need for balance between speed to market, robust and well defined processes that actually support overall business strategy, and ability to produce tangible, measurable, and credible outcomes.

Culp’s mission is to save GE. He doesn’t need to save all of the workers to accomplish that. If he has to lose more of us to do that, then more of us are gone. Those who are still around if and when GE is turned around are nothing more than a collection of lucky byproducts.

Power losing a $BN guarentees restructuring for power and support services Corporate provide. No surprises

Just waiting for a new union contract to be agreed to, then layoffs will occur.

To start layoffs ahead of the contract being agreed to will just piss the union off.
