Thread regarding Nestle layoffs

November 3 end date

We were told today that Nov. 3rd is the target date for most employees to be done. Gets us paid through the holidays and a fresh start to the new year I suppose.

Frankly, I think this is lousy timing. Thanksgiving and Christmas will be ruined for so many people. Sometime in January would have been much better as an end date.

I'm gonna take a month off and sleep in.
This will be a month of family, football watching, and growing out my hair.

Blessing in disguise begins in 3,2,1.....

No wonder we are all getting canned. You people who think being terminated is "good timing" are flat out stupid. You brain surgeons are going to figure it out after you've lost everything ( pension , health insurance , savings) that you've been rode hard and put away wet! Well paying jobs are hard to find! Screw Nestle!

lump sum comes @ 65 days after last day worked so that is what the package says. be forwarned though a collegue opted out lat november and it took nestle over 2 months to get him hs first severance check. and if u need your pension you cant even apply for withdrawl till after jan 1st

I have to agree with the other posters who like the timing. Hopefully, we won’t get the lump sum bonus until after the 1st for tax reasons. I wouldn’t want to claim that with this years wages.

Being route relief for the last 5 years and seeing the same people with tenure having all the same holidays off I’m actually kinda glad it’s happening during the holidays. I know there are people crying about people still taking there pto but if you earned it why not take it. With all the call ins and people leaving I don’t know how this is going to play out tell November. We just lost 2 drivers this week alone.

"Perfecting Timing"? Not sure if you mean they are perfecting the timing of the layoff or perfect timing. Either way, I completely agree. I am going to enjoy this holiday season to the maximum possibility. I'll start the job hunt mid December. Probably land something by February. My financial outlook can support a plan of not having a job until April. Thanks, NESTLE!!!

Yup, most companies do hiring freeze last part of the year. Jump now if solid job comes along, bonus/severance wont mean much when your forced to grab the first c-appy job that comes along due to severance running out

I would say it's perfect timing for me I would actually get some time to spend with my family during the holidays. Instead of worrying about how much vanila my stores can carry in the back room. It's time to move on.
