How about come to the field and splice a ROLT or a JSO or even do a Ring Pdo then I would answer your emails.

Any word on which area will be activated next?
No surprise it’s unsafe. It is unsafe when done in house. When I was doing the fiber build they sent us out on a highway without a crash truck, guys would kick back jobs that were unsafe till they found a crew that would do it, and management would constantly complain about having to get police detail. Last time I checked police detail is a part of safety.
Any word on how these fiber runs goin in other areas? I know police had to sh– down a couple of runs in my area because these contractors were working unsafe. The actual police working the job shut it down. Smh🤦♂️
How so? Everything he said is true. OSP techs did get bumped up to BBT 5 in union shops only, they did in our shops. Techs can advance to higher grade levels, it’s in our contract. I already know few techs who advanced to BBT 4 in FS, all thanks to our union who fought to have career progression in our contract. FTTH techs, construction, & fiber techs are all part of the same union therefore have career progression, OT/DT & standby (when needed), guaranteed wage increases & benefits. All that for only 1% dues = NO BRAINER!!! Seems like your the one who is wildly misinformed. I wish you all the best disgruntled at will tech. Good luck without a contract😀😀😀.

Osp techs in union shops got bumped to bbt5. And some of them been in the company only like 10 years. Thats a good progression. Not like at will shops. They are taking advantage of these guys and holding back career progression and pay. And they keep taking things away. The union guys especially on the ftth project have better job protections too. Its in their contract that contractors go first. And they still get double time, etc. Unlike the at will shops who just got it yanked
Needing a contract with this company is a must. More guys need to realize that. A bunch of them are still stuck on stupid and brainwashed thinking staying at will they will continue to benefit. Management is out for self and will dispatch and dispose as they see fit.

Career progression got lost when they got rid of grade levels. Altice got rid of 2 levels of progression and took away anyone’s hope of making more money. Show me a bbt5 in osp who hasn’t been in the position for a while. They exist but you can’t progress into that position anymore it’s non existent.
