Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

How is it we keep getting more job applications than ever?

Are people not getting informed before they apply for a job somewhere? Why would anybody want to join this mess right now?

They take anybody breathing now. When I applied a long time ago there was an interview process, an ORION test to see if I was capable of reasoning, and a d–g test.

I’ve was with Walmart for close to 20 years and they’re hiring pool is the bottom of the barrel. They need application reform! It’s hard to find talent to come to Walmart. No incentive!

Maybe people are still applying at Walmart because they aren't as cynical as some of the people posting on here.

My guess is they tend to pay more than other retailers. Kroger, for ex., is ridiculous: hardly any more than minimum wage—AND with union dues! WTF????
I don't know if it's true, but I'd heard Target has been so saturated with applications they're mostly turning them away right now.
In any case, it's a sad statement of this country that our youth feel thney have nothing better than Walfart to apply at..
