about a month ago someone posted that layoffs were going to happen in july.
i have seen no posts since that have confirmed those layoffs have actually happened.
have there been any announcements to anyone that pink slips are indeed about to be
handed out?
has sp announced the sale of any segment of the business?
have several mgrs resigned in the last month? upper mgmnt?
have peoples job positions shifted to other areas that they were not originally hired for?
has there been an announced change in the merger conditions with essendant? dex? or their
affiliates?

some drones will have the opportunity to "re-badge", a scheme employed to drain your knowledge before kicking you to the unemployment line. I suspect many outsourced folks from a year or 2 ago will be gone soon and more IT people will be outsourced until no Staples people are left.

While there's never an announcement unless it hits a certain level title-wise when we're told how someone is leaving to "pursue other opportunities", if there is a substantial reduction or reorganization it's still talked about or teams are pulled into a conference room to go over it. I've seen it done all sorts of ways at Staples. But the quiet, stressed out HR, plus the presence of folders of a certain color is a pretty good indication.
There’s never an announcement. All the VP’s have a stacked rank list of people in their department do they can cut. We are given an order AT ANY TIME to cut a percentage. Once we get the order, we go through the list. The weeks before, you’ll know because it will be quiet. You’ll see HR scurrying around talking to the VP/Directors behind closed doors.
Ummmm. There’s never an announcement about layoffs. They just happen on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
