Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Out of stock..anyone currently doing them

Is this just a useless task? Sure doesn’t seem like anything coming in

You would think that the warranty sockets and wrenches and screwdrivers would get replenished but they are not.. week after week OOS being done and not even a trickle of merchandise coming in...so many empty spots with IOS tags on them it looks really bad

Are your stores getting merchandise after doing OOS in tools?

  • Eddie already bought SHO. He has to operate it at arm’s length until the FTC and SEC sign off on it.

That said, prior to the deal for Transform to buy SHO closing he was doing exactly what you’ve described.

@5vdr it’s intentional manipulation on his part. If the hometown gets no goods, earnings are bad. If earnings are bad stock price goes down. Eddie is trying to buy hometown. If stock price is low he pays less.

Hometown OKC is in the same boat. No replenishment of goods!

In our Sears Store we don't do OOS anymore. The Hardlines ASM keeps ordering tools and lawn and garden items every week from the MSP. It's working because we are continually getting div 9 &71 items on the truck each week and they are the items the ASM ordered. Would we like more? Sure we would, but we are able to keep our store reasonably stocked.

I feel the store is closing too.. when? Who knows.. it’s amazing it has stayed open this long!!

I get the idea the only reason OOS is being so stressed in tools especially is to keep track of inventory and when the warranty sockets wrenches and screwdrivers are completely out... that will be an indication the end is very near.. kinda like a reverse of what OOS is meant to accomplish... otherwise why would other stores get their OOS in and my store would not..

Right now I would guess the OOS white tickets in the warranty tool section is a good 50% (could be more but with the poor equipment did not complete the entire area because the radio signal that the 20 year old equipment runs on, was cutting in and out) PLUS on each peg there is probably at least 4-6 tickets on each so it’s been an ongoing problem

Now you would think the store manager would be contacting someone in his network about this issue in my opinion because it looks beyond awful!!

We can’t keep up with what they’re bringing in OP, sorry to say, but it doesn’t sound good for you. What’s your store #?

Literally get tools every week, carts full. Almost all the loose sockets and wrenches are full to the point where we have overstock aside from some sizes which are always warranty replaced. Probably gonna downsize or close your store.
