Question for those is the U.S. who have been laid off or have resigned:
Benefits in the U.S. continue through the end of the month. If resignation with two weeks notice or company notification of lay-off occurs on the final day of the month does that mean benefits end on that same day? Or would benefits end on the final day of the subsequent month? Is the official “final day” the day you resign/receive lay off notice? Or is the “final day” the end of the two week period?
Mine went until the end of the Month and I was let go in the very beginning. If you see a weird meeting with your manager in the last week or two of the month. Fake an emergency and use PTO so they fire you at the beginning of the next month and you will get another month of benefits.
Ask HR. It depends on plan language when you resign. If you have already be layed off you would have received that information.
You will need to contact HR on this matter. This is an important subject matter that they should have discussed with you on the exit review, as well as receiving COBRA benefits.
