What's with all the safety shaming lately. Who cares if someone fell trying to sit down in a chair. Do we have nothing better to do?

In my former life as a CV tech, I tripped over a curb covered with leaves and sprained my ankle and missed 4 days recovering. Wasn't that big of a deal all things told, was only a sprain and not a break. I find out later via our dope of an HR rep that my sup was supposed to write me up for "not being careful enough" or some such BS. Gimme a break I thought. That's why they're called "accidents" not "on purposes"
I left the company to work for the electric company. If you get hurt at work they do a thorough investigation. It’s worse than anything Altice did while I was there. A meteor could fall on your work truck and they would question why you parked there. If you told them you didn’t see the meteor, they would tell you that you didn’t assess the work zone properly. It’s always your fault and your story better be straight. We recently had a guy get in a motor vehicle accident (not his fault) and he was asked why he didn’t take a different route. Altice is simply covering their own a– and rightfully so. The work place and the governing bodies have changed ten fold. They don’t want a lawsuit for someone missing a chair so if they send out the reminder it’s only them reminding you to be safe. If you miss your chair tomorrow sitting down you can’t say that you weren’t told so.
So it's not just altice employees being annoyed by this?
Safety has changed throughout all industries not just at Altice.
