Yes people in SS were also laid off.
They're trying to put a positive public spin on this, but I think the company is sunk. Employees were (illegally) forced to sign non-compete agreements last spring, and some were "promoted" to management positions just in time to get fired. Any CEO with so little regard for their employees will not last long.

67 people were laid off and were not offered other positions at all. By saying "generous severance and many were offered other positions" you are misleading and minimizing the experience for those 67 who did not have a choice at all. And even for those people who did have a choice, the positions they were offered were demotions. So basically it's here lose your job OR stay but you will lose credit for the hard work you put in to be in your current position. Yes, some people may be sensationalizing what happened but you are minimizing what happened, which is just as bad.

sorry you have to go through this, but remember that when you look back at this several years later you will realize that it turned out to be for better. You will realize that this incident came at a right time as a wake up call to help you turn around your personal life or career for good. You will realize that it was a short-term pain but longterm gain. So stay strong and stay positive
Was anyone in student success actually booted? it seems like only admissions was impacted.
I was there since 2008 and got booted today. This won't be the last round of layoffs.
People got fired because they were making "too much". Directors got fired, admissions managers. People who started the Denver office got fired. 2U is going downhill.
100 people were fired, all upper management gone. CEO should fire himself.
