Was at Fry's Irving, TX this morning, 9/10/19. A ghost town. Most shelves empty or nearly so. No audio connectors, hardware, the center hall with all the El Cheapos and knockoffs, even the tables gone. No bluetooth headsets, etc. Appliance section many empty spaces. All the backstock shelves (along the walls outside of the sales areas are empty. At the end of the store where the motherboards, memory, etc are located, the lights were off!
I managed to find two connectors I needed, went to cashier area. Many of the impulse item shelves half or more empty. No cashiers. Finally got one of the drones from the secure area behind the cashiers to check me out. The secure cage with the memory, processors and other hi dollar items had mostly empty shelves. No employees (of the ones who actually were there) would comment when asked "what's going on?", although one said "oh, t=we haven't had an inventory n a while, and a restock is coming". Ummm hmmm....
The door drone said no one would tell them anything. I gave him the number of a friend who works at Micro Center, which is almost always full of customers, many leaving with hi end items.
Too bad, but it looks like the end of the tracks for Fry's. I'll try to check the other Dallas area locations.
