We know we are looking at more layoffs today, any ideas what is going to get hit?
I'm having trouble sleeping, worrying if my name will be on the list. I really wish they did this in one day, prolonging it only serves to torture us.
Also, good luck to people who were let go yesterday. I hope you find a better job in a better company sooner than you expect.
Right, and SP knows the right thing for the business and the people stranded there? C'mon they only know what will put $'s in their pockets and if it is taking away the jobs of peasants so be it, let them eat cake.
RS & SG didn't have the guts to do the right thing for the business and the people still employed at the company.

RS & SG could have purged 1000's of people too but they didn't did they? SP & their hatchet men did.
JK is gone so is onsite HR. Some have new roles but most field HR is cut. Modeling what sales did a few years ago

It was the last two failed CEOs( SG and RS ) who took 10 tens of millions of dollars in annual compensation to NOT successfully lead the company through the challenges of a changing business landscape. They were paid enormous amounts of money to fail at creating the right strategy; to fail at putting together the right team; to fail at understanding what the customer really wanted . Signing contracts with more and more talentless consultant groups is not leadership, and that was their forte.
They destroyed the once amazing brand and the dedicated people who built it . Do you think they care about what happened yesterday ?
Cuts will take place through the month. It is like dominos.
This isn’t SP or Sandy . Staples has reorganized annually over the past 10 years. Some teams more than others. We are in a dying industry trying to stay alive. Cuts mean lives are impacted. Whether you respected them or not, they are still people working for a living like you and me. Let’s be respectful. I’m happy to be safe but many peers/friends are not.
