I am a non-U.S employee with a vacation balance. Will Symantec pay that out as legally required by law, or will the vacation balance get transferred to Broadcom?
On vacation, does anybody know what their vacation policy is?

Check your country law.
If you are in Canada, they have to pay vacation based on content of the following file.

I'm pretty sure you will get your vacation balance in a form of payment. If in doubt contact your local HR rep for clarification.
I'm not looking to go on vacation – I just want to understand what will happen to my outstanding balance. I've already been told I will be receiving an offer from Broadcom.
Legally the vacation balance needs to be paid out. I'm assuming Symantec will pay it out to me, since Broadcom represents a new job.
You will get RIF-ed if you go on vacation now.
