Thread regarding Symantec Corp. layoffs

Norton acquisition

Norton will sold after the split with BC. Bloody private firms, completely decimated a huge entity.

Similar thing happened when CA sold its Arcserve business to a private investment company years ago. The Arcserve guys are doing well and growing under the private investment company and they all seem happy to have gotten rid of the large corporate BS and concentrate on their jobs.

@10UEzqDa-5geo The $10bn Broadcom pays for Symantec Enterprise will go to Norton in cash. Therefore the full value of $16bn will remain. What Private Equity companies love to do is to buy these scenarios because there's cash involved, which as a solid currency has more value than the stock, bonds or debts they own. So when the PEs buy Remain Com they will trade their uncertain assets for certain ones and even save a whole load of cash in the progress. This will not k–l the Broadcom deal, it does in fact depend on it. Not sure what happens to the $12 dividend. It might still happen.

To unwind the WSJ quote...one of these new suitors buys SYMC for $16B, sells enterprise to Broadcom or $10B and nets a $6B consumer business. Then the question becomes: does the new consumer owner prepare for it for a sale or keep it for the long term.

Here you go from wall st journal

"Permira and Advent International Corp. recently approached Symantec proposing a takeover deal valuing Symantec at $26 to $27 a share that would hand them the company’s consumer operation while preserving the sale of its enterprise business to Broadcom Inc. "

Nowhere it says, its just the consumer for $26-$27, its the entire freaking company. If anyone here think its consumer is worth $16 Bil alone , they deserve to get rif'ed :)

Obviously its the whole company, else the stock would be hovering about $35 right now if they valued consumer at $16 billion.

At $16bn ($26/$27 per share) this must be the whole company. Not just Norton. There was also mention this could de-rail the Broadcom buyout!

Only Directors and above who are part of the transition will get accelerated RSU vesting.

Ask the directors and above to work on the transition. Bunch of losers.

If you are in transition and not getting RSU vested just leave and teach these stupid id–ts a lesson. Ofcourse after getting a job.

This is a result of poor management. Best dump your holdings if you have any.

Isn't this what the Americans refer to as the 'American Dream'. Put simply, look after yourself and to hell with everyone else.

The American dream - it's a dream because you'd have to be asleep to believe it.
