5 years later and in recent times we've had:

Bonus announced that the company didn't pay until a year later (FY22),

No bonus (FY23)

Partial bonus announced at the company level with instructions to managers to suppress staff ratings to reduce the actual bonus pot significantly (FY24)

Some things never change.

It would be interesting to hear more about how the bonus was since the Cisco spin-out.

When you have a$$ clowns leading the $hit show, you get $hitty results. You backed the most ignorant managers at the onset, who were supposed to be the voice of the people and knew the cultures. The employees are dying here, and now this? Most terrible xmas my family will see, thanks to a company that threw people away like our money. But they can spend the money on trips and meetings right? Rather than you meet for a week how about web meetings and spread it to those who built this thing. Jackawf$!!!

Bhbp - you’re on the money. I remember lots of senior guys from Israel moaning about the Cisco travel policy as it meant that they wouldn’t earn enough miles to take their families on holiday. But did they pay tax on this benefit? Hell, no.

Re religious holidays. Well, it’s tricky, but lots of people will probably remember Sky begging never to have an Israel team on something critical, and if they were forced to do this they’d insist on having the very long holidays declared on the project plan.

Give us a clue about the senior person that’s about to leave - many of the worst offenders left years ago - wondering who’s left from the old guard.

Why would people remain in Synamedia if Bonus is not being paid? At Cisco, Bonus and RSU were a major portion of compensation, anyone with marketable skills could make more elsewhere. So, why are people remaining at Synamedia? I don't understand

There are many talented engineers distributed around the company, no single office stands out.
Equally there are many sub-standard incompetent engineers too.
The one office that stands out from all the rest is Jerusalem and don't we all know it. They are always on holiday, this week is Sukkot, last week was Yom Kippur, week before that was Rosh Hashana. The Cisco management could never understand how their non-observant reports would keep disappearing for a week without booking any PTO even though just one of those days might be the official holiday. And when they are not on holiday they travel the globe for no other reason than to earn loyalty points and go shopping. How many Israeli delivery people do you need staying at the Park Lane Hilton supposedly working at BSkyB. At least one of the worst of these “Gold Card For Life” Israelis is being booted out the end of this month.
The Israelis are not the only ones guilty of unnecessary travel. Last month we had the Global Sales Conference and then IBC, each event had over 100 members of staff traveling to the Netherlands and for what? What sales were announced at IBC?
So, as usual, Abe’s Babes have spent our bonus on travel/hotels/booze/food and generally having a piss up in the Netherlands.
Kiss any future bonus goodbye...unless you're a Babe.

The engineers in Israel are fantastic, the problem is, they tend to build solutions in search of problems. Guidance is needed, and this is where your friends in Lawrenceville can help.

@10TPRsxU-npte If Israel would stop acting as if they're better than everyone else... that'd be a good start

The company is only afloat because of Israel. They deserve something.

How can they reduce someone’s salary? You mean make job redundant and force people to reapply for a lower role ?

Has a 121 with my manager. Redundancies and pay loss expected soon. Also new hirings in India for “continual support of dead services”.

They want the people(who don't' get the discretionary payment) to leave. So, they can save the severance pay. Don't believe? A salary cut is around the corner.

CDM and YP are poor quality for their respective roles. They have misled on many occasions. It is fair to say they are untrustworthy.

גוי זעיר, אנו מקבלים בונוסים חדשים בישראל על כל העבודות שעלינו לעשות בכדי לשאת את המשקל שלך.

Never mind No Bonus what about Pay Rises, that is what defines a healthy , progressive company.

If they aren't careful all that will be left are a bunch of overworked, underemployed ageing schleppers !

I see they have introduced the Synamedia Superstar award as a sticking plaster . Got to say the HR policies are pure boiler plate 21 st century BS and its new head CDM the least erudite example I have seen. What ever happened to a fair days pay for a fair days work with overtime if required to help out , rather than this "hero" mentality of working every hour god gave - for free - for the greatness of the company , just like Foxconn making iphones in China .

What's the revenue of last year? He didn't mention this in the letter. how bad it could be?

How depressing. Things must be bad if they simply sc-apped the bonus rather than reducing it (day to half of expected amount). I wonder if this signals impending redundancies ?
