Thread regarding Symantec Corp. layoffs

Why lie that meeting with Hock Tan was not recorded???

If you check Syminfo, you will see a note that meeting with Hock Tan was not recorded and will not be available for replay.

Some facts:
1) Art played the recording during his evening meeting for EMEA/India time zones last Wednesday.
2) The recording with Hock Tan was published on Syminfo last Thursday
3) The link to the recording was removed last Friday, but if you had a link it was possible to play the recording
4) The recording itself got deleted this week

Any ideas why the meeting recording got deleted?

Didn't expect such blunt lie :/

Looking at the internal syminfo page, the following info has been added to the past replays page:

"Week of 26 August

  • Please note that meetings with Hock Tan are not recorded as it is Broadcom policy to not record meetings."

Can someone from Broadcom/CA confirm this is standard behavior?

Well, Art announced that Hock will join multiple all-hands in upcoming weeks.
So I do not think it is a valid reason.

I've ripped the all hands meetings before, and from this post I might have to start doing it again. Damn, only if I knew the link. Does anyone know the exact date?

The links work like this:
https://syminfo.ges.symantec.com/content/syminfo/en/news/2019/august-2019/20190812-all-hands-replay-aug-12.html

The 20190812 is the date of the meeting recorded.

There is something in that video that is extremely damning. I wont go into specifics but @1ffi is partially right that if exposed could have major legal implications.

Hock was asked about >90% RIF and he lied saying it was 50% but Symantec pays severance and conducts RIF not Hock. Once they heard his blatantly lie they had to delete playback and attempt neutralization on workers through additional lies.

Because he was not supposed to be there until a closing day.

From now, they should not layoff anyone before a closing day. Law actions are coming otherwise

The link doesn't matter, the source is gone.

You might be got fooled by Art's "openness". Symantec always behaves like this.
I saw the recording too. It maybe still in browser cache.
