Hi all. any news for the Dublin site? What will happen to the back office? How big a hit will Dublin take? Have to admit the uncertainty is really starting to take a foot hold here.

@10Q2e3S3-1zgi Thanks for sharing, very helpful.
Symantec Ireland are legally obliged to pay 2 weeks statutory redundancy per reckonable service year IF you are with the company for more than two years. The statutory payment is capped at €600 per week, so you will get €1200 per year at Symantec plus a pro rata amount for extra months beyond the full year. On top of the statutory redundancy they are paying an Ex Gratia payment of 4 weeks of your current OTE per reckonable service year. Divide your current OTE by 52, multiply by 4, multiply by the number of years you have worked for Symantec and presto! For full taxation rules check here: https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employment/retirement/income_tax_in_retirement/retirement_lump_sum_taxation.html
If you are with the company less than two years you will be neither entitled to statutory nor Ex Gratia payments. Word on the street is however, that HR Dublin have said that even employees that are at Symantec less than two years will receive "some sort of pro rata" payment for their service period.
Note: Symantec Ireland have been paying 2+4 weeks forever. If you are being offered anything less (where eligible), talk to your HR contact immediately and let them know that you will contact your solicitor. To lower the amount of Ex Gratia payment, Symantec would have to announce the change and engage a 1 year cool off period before that change can take effect, otherwise you can file a case for discriminatory treatment. Companies are scared sh–less by legal actions during layoff periods.
Whats is the current redundancy policy in Dublin? How many weeks per year of service?
They’re speculating that some quit by themselves. Then they don’t have to pay redundancy... Just keep doing your thing, showing up and collecting until the boot. Check the job market and write your friends in other firms about vacancies. Take it easy at work do just the necessary
I am in Dublin, anxiety, anxiety...

I heard that Dublin location is closing fully at year end. Its talked about on yahoo finance bulletin board, SYMC
What about the rest of Dublin (excl enterprise)? IT, Stat accountin, tax, Procurement, HR, etc.
From my notes on what Art said about the Dublin site:
