I envy people who are looking forward to leaving this place. This must be so easy for them.
I am torn up. I know the chances are high my position is being cut, but I still can't help but hope. I've been here for more than two decades, I don't even want to think about what interviewing for a job is going to be like today.
But as I said, those of you who already don't like this place are really lucky...
10LlzReI-srh - You hit the nail on the head, totally different environment, company dismantled. They'll concentrate on renewals, "no shiny new toy R&D projects". They will wrap up Symantecs software that is a success into one Enterprise management group. They will leave about 25 people to manage business on the Fed side, I witnessed that. No HR, Contracts, Finance, Business Development etc. All those position will be cut by 9:00am Day1.
There is a difference between being comfortable and liking. Change is hard and scary but doesn’t mean it isn’t for the best. Control what you can and roll with the rest. Best of luck to you (and us).
I don't think people who want to leave necessarily hate SYMC (most don't). It's normal to feel comfy in your own bubble, especially after the time you have spent at this company. I love my job and the products I work with! I love the teams I interact with and even my management is really great towards me. Yet I have to realize that what I love about this company, however much I identify with the brand and the slogan, this will all be gone. Symantec will not be the same anymore and I don't think that customers will get the same value from it either. So considering all of this and having read a lot about Broadcom and how different it is from the culture that I like so much - it's probably for the better to leave this place.
