Thread regarding Fry's Electronics layoffs

The End

Went to Frys today 8-27-2019 to get a 2TB 5400RPM hard drive. Left with a 3TB 7200RPM drive because it was the absolute last Hard Drive on the shelf! Doesn't look good to me! They said it was due to the trade war. Went to Office Depot and the hard drive shelf was full.

Burbank, California store looks VERY sad. Many empty shelves. I loved the place. It was once described as Disneyland for computer geeks! Not anymore!

I just left frys at Southwest Freeway, in Houston and It looked like a store on its way out. barely any blank dvd discs on the shelf, when sometime ago they had a variety to choose from.

Went to Fry's 8-25-19.
This used to be my go to as you could find anything in stock.

Not this trip. The shelves in the computer area that had the cables (USB, etc..) were about empty.

The office furniture section had 2 chairs and a desk on display...used to be full.

All kinds of basic components have not been restocked. Good luck finding a HDD or SSD.

It had the feeling of a store getting ready for a going-out-of-business sale
A sad state of affairs.

Well, technically they are sort of tell the truth, they are having a trade war with their suppliers.

So corporate told their employees to lie to the customers and say low inventories are due the trade war? Fry's must think we are stupid to believe that.
