Whenever I make it to metro Chicago, I make it a point to hit Frys at some point. Usually something falls into the cart to the dismay of my wife.
Today I pulled into the parking lot and questioned if the place was open. There were maybe ten cars in the parking lot.
When I walked in, the story unfolded. A majority of the shelves were bare, employees leaning and looking downtrodden. It felt like a Sears.
I spent 45 minutes hunting for the item I was looking for (that was listed as available on the website), because of course it wouldn’t be Fry’s-logical to put it with like items. This time spent on the store truly showed the circling of the drain.
It’s bittersweet to see this, as I liked having immediate access to obscure technical components not available elsewhere, but the sleazy policies laid out by corporate made for a miserable shopping experience.
Good luck to the employees there, I hope you find a better employer before the clock runs out and you’re left with nothing.
