Broadcom despises remote workers. They are very old school and operate as such.

It always had been like this.

Generally Broadcom pays well (in stock) and that is all they do for the employee. Beyond that they don't give a damn about employees interests, growth or social aspects. All they care about is revenue to employee strength. If that does not meet the number then time to lay off.

Generally no remote workers, but like earlier poster said, up to manager/BU. I know people who moved to any office and it was ok. Health insurance is c-ap, I switched to my wife's. If you stick with Brcm and your BU does well (and you are L5 and above), you will get paid better than anywhere else and WLB should be ok. While it lasts. Lots of big ifs. WSD people can all retire early, e.g.

Part of the CA acquisition and am a WFH employee. Benefits better at Broadcom than they were at CA and stock options very generous IF we make our numbers.
Went from MS outlook to Gmail and has been painful if you use email extensively - definitely not enterprise software.
Broadcom also just enacted that mainframe employees pay for own cellphone and plan.

I have been working at Broadcom for the last four years. Health is high deductible but you get an HSA account and they contribute up to 1500$ to it. Teeth and vision is good also. WFH depends on the BU and your manager basically

Is it that scary to work for Broadcom?

Apart from good pay I have never heard anything else +ve from employees

How are they paying so much money to the employees?

I was acquired twice by CA and it was seamless as all companies were in the same vertical. Broadcom has made some significant changes to CA's business model and it's been painful, hence the 'wait and see' post November 2.

Good to know about WFH. Did anyone get a “move to this city or leave” offer?

If you survive and have a chance to stay in Broadcom it would be great. Higher your rank better for you. 401K is also good. 100% match for 6% of your base salary.

Do they revise pay scale?

I was a CA Tech employee on transition for 9 months. The insurance is pretty much all High Deductible insurance. And their standard policy is NO working remote if there is an office within a straight line 50 mile distance. They do allow WFH if there isn’t an office near. Good luck!

So there may be some hope for some remote workers...?
"0 Tolerence " for remote employees. Every remote employee a CA was cut day one.
Remote workers can start to work from nearest Broadcom office.
Does CA offices counts as Broadcom?
Basically anyone who works remote found out today they will be let go.
Broadcom allegedly has a strong disdain for remote employees, and would only support working in such a scenario on a rare exception basis.
Most likely that will be the scenario, so my suggestion is better prepare yourself.
No updates so far. Fingers crossed
