Come on guys, a much better metric is percentage of your yearly base salary.

Sr. Staff Engineer - 3.9%

Forget the after tax number. Useless information. Tax withholding is pretty much standard, but of course actual tax in the end will vary depending on individual situations.

like someone said, slap on the face would have been less hurful. was pretty excited to see the email from SM at first but turned out to be c-ap .. shouldn't get my hopes up too high for the review numbers though they say 'they are looking into it'... i'd say take all the stock that SM got after Apple settlement and distribute it amongst all the employees

Cool, first time it looks employees are not differentiated by the manager and by the job function. Happy to find the equal treatment in Q this time. Talk to a guy how they feel with compensation working in Q IT vs. Engineering that both needs the similar educational background and similar desiign and coding aptitude.
Q is a great company in San Diego !

Don't get tricked by this one time payment they're going to "forget" about fixing the salary issue because people are short sighted. Keep bring up low salary at every event with the high ups, do not let them weasle out of it. Email the board of directors if you have to.
