I understand most of us need a paycheck and will need a job very soon after we are laid off. If you are getting another DSD role, I believe you’ll need an exit strategy in the near future. DSD is dying, online shopping and delivery is growing. Even the new warehouse model Nestle is going to will be dead in 5-7 years. Good luck to everyone applying for the 300+ Warehouse RSR, 20+ RSR roles and whatever else comes available. God Bless!

Be careful with Frio Lay interview. It didn't sound like we were going anywhere 2 years ago.
That being said, good luck and if you feel good about it, I (we) wish you the best.
My interview with Frito-Lay is tomorrow. Doesn't sound like they are going anywhere.
I heard Mondelez DSD might be on the chopping block. Some people think it's just a restructuring.
We have definitely sparked convo all across the industry. Everyone feels "well if y'all are shutting it down, then who is next?". So yeah the DSD model seems like it may eventually become extinct. The best option now, is to not just jump at a new job, but actually think about the next few years, and whether you'll go through this again in a few years. Looks like it will be better to work for a company directly. Drivers may not have much issue. But sales and merch, it may be a little difficult. That's the s—y part, especially not knowing which company is next
Apply for the dsd companies that require you to drive a box truck store to store
I believe this is a pretty sincere post. I've also been thinking about getting completely out of grocery/dsd. I am just not sure what that looks like for me right now. Not many job options open right now across the industry, but when the calendar flips over, many companies will be posting many jobs. Therefore, I am here until they kick us out.
