Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

How long til walmart starts getting rid of cashiers?

I think before long there will only be sco. Walmart sees how much they can save by having the customer check themselves out. We lost a couple registers for pickup tower.

Do you want to work at Walmart?? If your answer is no, that is one reason I believe they went to self check outs. reason 2. customers complained not enough casheirs/open more lines. and not in a happy tone either. so stop your whinning either use the sco or a cashier. If you go to a cashier I don't care what store be nice to them. Its a hard job and they don't get tips.

There has already been a store down the road that had converted almost all the belts to self checkout. Last I heard 90percent of it's transactions are self checkout. It's a huge supercenter too.

I refuse to use self checkout. And no, I’m not a grandpa.

They will lose customers and shrink will be through the roof.

Wal Mart only cares about the bottom line. Shrink is nothing compared to saving money on wages, insurance etc. Wake up, they don't care the associate.95

I can see it happening eventually, and Target will follow. The only reason Kroger still has as many cashiers is their UFCW union.

And yes, it IS dumb. It's why their shrink is at an all-time high; it is comically easy to rip those places off with no guards at the gate!
