If you do ANYTHING personal at work, do it on your iPad and use your own hot spot. Guest net is NOT private, and they know you’re on it. ANY personal call MUST be on your own phone in the event you have a company phone. The lack of corporate leadership, from CEO to all officers, BOD and even senior managers is stunning. HR cannot solve the problem, GSC hasn’t saved a dime off costs available in the market, and HR is looking for any excuse to cut headcount (other than its own). Soon, cheaper contractors will fill roles currently held by employees, etc. Don’t put a bullseye on yourself. Before HR trolls attack, please compare MRO today versus 3-4 years ago, by ANY measure.

Today’s Wall Street Journal had a long article on this subject today. Does Marathon do this sort of snooping? Everyone writes the occasional personal email, makes personal calls and does some personal things on line while at work.
