They just laid off over 91 people at my warehouse today in Reno, NV . With more to come. They didn't do it based on seniority or by production standards and with no input from the supervisors. Some guy from the top decided who to let go. There were people who worked there for over 20 years let go today. It was horrible.
I don't understand, why was it done like this? What does Arrow Electronics gain by getting rid of its most experienced and most loyal employees first? What's the point?
I was one of the ones laid off in Reno - and they did not seem to take into account the performance or seniority of some they let go. It was a very secretive, impersonal experience, after I had relocated to Reno to work there. Management was silent the week the layoffs occurred, despite a public press release announcing the closure of a large area of business/warehouse operations.
Last year showed how unorganized and un-empathetic the leaders of this company are.
Outsourcing all CCC and planners to Brazil in January. In the process of finding new positions for all management within Arrow. Combining AEC and Alliance sales.
Arrow (Maestro) are firing people left and right. Some as little as one errors, and a lot of people are in PIPs. Are they becoming extra serious on quality or Are they finding loop holes to avoid lay off payment and trying to fire as many people as they can?
Ha, they wouldn't even upgrade a necessary (can break at any time), 21 year old A/C system or the 22 year old desk phone system at Reno (Maestro) . A joke of a place. Someone pushing the buttons in Colorado. Just another greed based company. Lets not mention the major dirt out on the floor and at the stands.
They need to pay those HUGE stock options to the CEO and sponsor the Indy 500 car each year. The only concern by their board of directors is how many more millions of $ they can stuff in their pockets at the expense of the workers. They change the way bonuses are calculated for salaried workers all the time. Why does anyone continue to work there?
Day shift receiving was also let go theses are people who worked for 2 years... I also agree that the higher up should have chosen differently there are some people who are almost out the door with errors and attendance got to stay and it was only one supervisor team which wasn't fair.
I don’t know. It seemed like only the second shift from picking got affected. Others shifts were saved. And these shifts have people who are in high waters of firement, such as them having loads of errors and call ins. It truly doesn’t make sense.
mostly quality, productivity and attendance issues for now, next batch
will probably be employees on top rate wage issue.
Experienced and tenured employees cost more than new hires.
