Thread regarding Fry's Electronics layoffs

Do you honestly think that there is a list of the stores that will be closing just floating around out there? The Fry's family is sealed tighter than a ducks a–. When they want to close a store they will close it without alerting the media. I guarantee the only people who will have a "list" are the brother's themselves.

A cashier, a customer service rep (returns), and the assistant manager of the Woodland Hills location all said they were not closing. The San Fernando Valley Business Journal thinks (knows?) otherwise. And the empty shelves throughout the store suggest an imminent closing.

Las Vegas Store as of Jan 15th 2020 has LOTS of empty shelves, looks like after 17 years it is gonna CLOSE
with 25 registers (never seen all of them running at once) so the closure is not un-expected! gianormic stores like this with MASSIVE overhead need MASSIVE sales, & it just wasn;t happening.

Sad, but WHATEVER! it will be replaced by the ONLINE market & mail type delivery
just like SEARS, Kmart, RADIO SHACK & BLOCKBUSTER - it had it's heyday but IT IS OVER

The Houston Store on I45 North Houston has very little merchandise. Plenty of empty shelves.

Visited the Irving, Tx location today, looking for a 25’ Ethernet cable. It was like going to a funeral. Inventory clearly depleted. The one lone sales guy we found sent us to Home Depot. We asked if the store is closing, he assured us the are waiting for inventory deliveries. We said, umm, yeah..,

Fry's Manhattan Beach has many unstocked shelves. Few employees lurking about. It looks as if it should have been closed months ago.

Just came back from San Marcos California store. Shelves were half empty in every department. There appeared to be three other customers wandering around, and the parking lot was near empty save for employee vehicles. The TV section was Samsung and a few off brands sitting in a dark, lonely corner. The salesman told me they weren't stocking floor model Sony's because Sony didn't want "to advertise their products that way" which made little sense to me. He said the shelves were empty because Fry's was renegotiating the supplier contracts. I asked him if management had held a meeting recently telling the employees their jobs were safe, because if they had, that was a sure sign to start looking for work. He was not amused.

san marcos store is a ghost town. Employees reduced to part time, and haven't been told what the plan is

Don't bother going to the Austin location, either.
I went there today and was shocked at how empty it was!
They're definitely going out of business.
I used to work at a location in Houston and didn't enjoy how they treated employees, but I always was happy to help because I enjoy tech.
They just lagged behind when it came to adapting to the market.
They should have seen the delivery trend and price matching, years out, but only did that in recently, which I believe has hurt. This is probably paltry in comparison to the embezzlement case, though.
Buying small and cheap components is going to be a pain now, with their passing.

Don't bother going to the Brokaw or Sunnyvale locations it not worth wasting the gas as they are as depleted as Campbell location unless you are looking for water

I walked into Fry’s in Campbell California. The parking lot was almost empty. The stock was depleted in a lot of areas, and I saw very few workers. There was no one at the exit checking purchases. When I checked out, I asked the cashier if they were closing. He said no. From now on, i’ll Go to the store on Brokaw Road in San Jose, or the one in Sunnyvale on Arques Ave.

The tempe store in Arizona isn't listed anymore on their website. That's sad. I had an orgasm walking in the front door back in 97. It was a dream come true. LOL.

As much as I dont shop at Frys as i use to especially store #1 back in the day, id rather see bestbuy take a nose dive into the abyss. (i worked at stores 144,142, 528, and 499 during the pilot of GS). 144 was notorious to steal and point the finger at you. shame on you warehouse on what you did to me. the sad thing is no lawyers wanted to represent me. so id rather see bby go byebye than to see frys close forever.

The three stores in Houston Texas, including the NASA store are still open. Sadly, the NASA store is pretty bleak. Thank you online shoppers.

Just left the Concord store. Went in for retail therapy, fulling intended to waste some money. I left empty handed and sad.

The Concord store is closing. The shelves are empty. Nothing Apple, or printers of any brand in the store. Very few computers. Very little in the way of any computer accessories at all.

Wrong one store is closing. The frys.com (store 48) warehouse is closing.
