Flex Hours with PTO - violation of contract?

DM has stated that due to the cuts and reductions in hours available per store in the district, pharmacists will be required to flex to meet their base hours if their assigned stores cannot provide said hours. Unfortunately, since the reduction in hours has affected most stores in our district, DM said that staff pharmacists have the option of using their PTO to meet their base hours. DM has even stated and informed managers to restrict and limit PTO usage to help staff pharmacists meet their base hours. Is this not a violation of our rights as employees to use PTO as we wish? What will happen after said PTO hours have been used? Are they going to go on another m—acre spree to eliminate all of those who they cannot provide base hours for and hire new grads for 48 hours per pay period? Why are only certain staff pharmacists being forced to flex while others continue to get their full hours per contract? Should there not be a rotation schedule in place to make it fair for all employees? Also, why is it that other employees who dont have 40 hours per week per contract are still being given 40 per week, while others with less are forced to flex? Where is HR?

Just bc you signed a paper does not mean there is a 'contract'. If you are 48, 56, 64 etc hour pharmacist... It only means the company guarantees you that set amount of hours and benefits with those hours... Unless you are the pharmacy manager, the company can require you to pick up hours in other stores to fulfill your obligation. If you turn down a shift or have lack of availability, you must use your pto to make up your salaried hours OR get paid for only the hours you work under your set 'Co tracted' amt. Good luck in your dream land.. This is how the real world works!

Why don't these Pharmacists just start their own business? No one is forcing them to slave away at WM. So much b-tching. I bet these du-b as-es tried to unionize and wallworld aint having none of that.
