And if that isn't depressing enough for you, guess what? They probably feel entitled to that money, to be rewarded for serving as an officer of the company. What's even more sickening is to think about how you'd react in a similar situation. Would you say no to all of that money, to be a martyr of sorts for your employees? Or would you convince yourself that you earned it? I, for one, can see myself taking either option. Glad I don't have to make that call.
