Expiration dates

Can anyone honestly tell me how the f**k they have time for checking dates? The folks in my district have completely stopped checking dates. I assume most of us are having a hard time keeping up with this. I just sold some expired Boost from 2018. I just don't see how there's times for this when you have 190 hours a week.

Wow I would love to have 190 hrs. My store has 146 hrs. 3 shifts 1 cashier. 1 person works 4 hrs per shift by them self. We try to do out dates kinda hard to do when you have to run to the front every couple min's to check for customers. nobody in my store has an area. Everybody does everything. How do you do out dates on Sunday? Who does your sale tags? It takes us the entire shift just to do tags.

There is no way that any store out there isn’t taking short cuts. If you are doing outdates, then something else must not be getting done. It has become so unrealistic to do it all. Anyone who says they do it all, I don’t buy it one bit or isn’t being 100% honest.

But.....for real people GET OUT !!

I did over a year ago :)

173 hours, app. $24,000/week. Cashiers do outdates Sundays and Mondays, they can reach all edibles. Shifts do back outdates, OTC, same days. Every Other Week Truck so off week we do planograms and BOH then work backroom, displays, seasonal etc. until truck which takes sometimes 2 days to put up. Then start all over. BOH is divided between Manager, 2 shifts and a cashier, everyone has a section they are responsible for. Everyone MUST be onboard.

Have cashiers do it when it’s slow. Of course sometimes this backfired and people will just walk out the door with stuff. But either way you’re guaranteed not to have to worry about outdates

Make your own schedule. Do grocery, snacks, ect. for a month and make a list of items going out the following 30 days. A week or so before the 30 days pull the remaining items on the list. When your ready to check again, start a new list. Cough and cold we will do for 6 months at a time. Candy is the only catrgory i can say we do per the schedule.
