so is Staples planning on closing all sdo's eventually? Sure looks that way. Does anyone know what kind of severance a driver can expect? I think overall, the use of third party delivery will hurt the company! Thoughts and feedback appreciated

Mostly all SDO's will close next year. Only a select few will be left.
It is one week per year up to 10 weeks. They will(should) also offer a retention bonus if you stay until the last day. If you are a salaried associate you will get more weeks of severance and a slightly higher bonus. Lastly, they will pay out any sick/FH/Vac time you have left.
Yeah eventually layoffs for sdos will be comprehensive.
I think it's 1 week for 1 year of service. up to 10 weeks. i left in 2010 so take this with a grain of salt.
from what Ive heard from the drivers in the SDO where I work, their severance is depending on length of service with the company.. Its a sad time here.. good, hard working people who are the face of our company being treated like this . customers love the drivers..it may be a shot in the foot to go the 3rd party route.
