Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

I hear we can succeed!

So many employees on hear whining, complaining and speculating. Maybe if you would put half as much effort focusing on your job as you do these rumors you might just succeed. Here is an idea; wake-up tomorrow as ask yourself what YOU can do to contribute to the success of Staples instead of being a boil on the a-- of the company. Another idea if you still feel miserable? Leave.

there is no plan to turn around Staples. SP's plan is to make Staples attractive for an IPO so they can cash out the remaining skin and then some that they have in the game, which is about 600 million. It is purely unintentional if anyone working there profits. It is only about the handful of SP employees.

Issues on the site are so much bigger than whether someone typing on their phone added a letter accidentally, didn’t catch the spell correction or whatever your issue is

Just came back from the texas meeting and while a lot of things were good, I can't help but think it's too little too late. While retail is still profitable the declining comps will make that unsustainable. I really hope the turnaround plan works but it is an uphill battle. Personally I think they should sell retail to Amazon and become showrooms for amazon products with a blend of our current assortment. Also give people the ability to order from amazon in store. Can sign people up for Prime, or charge a small fee for the people who don't want to pay for prime.

LOL. Nothing like being proud of your stupidity on display for the world to see. Understanding and writing proper English is not difficult, but by all means keep thinking everyone else is the problem.

If don’t know the answer to that, but what p-sses me off more than inept SP leaders and Staples incompetent managers, are grammar nazis. If you want to correct grammar on a blog maybe you should go back to college and become an English teacher. Then you can have a real job correcting term papers and learn to critical think. Read to understand the content and thought being communicated, not misspellings.

What about the rest of us that have already been laid off? Should we still believe we can succeed?

OP - you lost my attention in the first sentence when you showed your language deficiencies by failing to understand the difference between “hear” and “here.” A basic grasp of the English language is helpful in the professional world. Maybe you should quit focusing so much on your job and spend some time reviewing homophones. You needed to use “here” in that moment. Extra points if you can tell me if it would be an adverb or adjective in that instance.

Oh I have moved on to taking advantage of Staples weaknesses. I now sell to Staples with increased margins that would have been on your bottom line but are now on mine. Someday is payday, the way you treat people will be the way you’re treated in the end. I plan on s/cking everything g I can out of you before they nail the coffin shut on what once was a great company that cared about their people.

"Sad Loser" - says the guy who is no longer with the company but still comes back to this board. Move on with your life. Staples isn't taking you back. It's time to find a company who'll accept your middling performance.

Sorry to disappoint you a hat but I was a top performer every year since 2013!!

Received Chairmans Award, top bonus category every year, restructured my division to a top performing division without canning people. You deluded people that don’t see the decay and death at Staples amaze me. They have kept the inept, low wage, incompetent managers and others all to show a better bottom line. You my sick friend are like the people who have been told all their lives they are a great singer only to be told you can’t sing. They kept you because you can’t sing but you’ll do what ever they tell you to do.

Sad loser

An A-- of a company!

Drink some more Kool-Aid.

If you don't think that a lot of these people haven't been contributors to the company for the past 15 to 20 years, you're an a-- as well. The engine has failed and you better start paddling your life boat. I hope a team member is willing to S#CK the puss out of your boil and get back to work.

it's been clear for quite some time, and the posts below confirm, that the vast majority of people who post on this website are either bitter underperformers who blame the company for their shortcomings or former employees who couldn't make the grade and were shown the door. Best to leave this sorry group to themselves to tirelessly complain rather than contribute.

I got tired of complaining and I got tired of hearing other people complain so I left. Staples is dead as dead dude. Why sink with the titanic when you can jump on a lifeboat. Staples is a lost cause and I have no sympathy because they did it to themselves.
