Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

I Got Out in Time

I sense it since 2016 that SST was going to lay off a lot of people. Every time someone quit or found a new job they never replaced them. Then in 2017 when they force us to trained all of the Indian new hires online. I was out with a new job in 2 weeks. Now this. Interesting.

@XacMhAC-3awc Yes you are correct and the layoffs have been going on for at least 15 - 20 years. If you have a network of former and current employees of State Street believe me you would be surprised how long they have been planning on sending a large percentage of US positions to India and other global sites. I recall when the positions were sent to India and some of my colleagues went to India to train them. I believe we were told it would be a small satellite office and has grown to a large organization that is hurting the opportunities for many who live in Massachusetts especially. Just my take on the current company that is State Street. My advice is to update your resume and look for a new opportunity ASAP if you haven't already.

You “sensed” it in 2016? When they started layoffs in the ‘90s? They alternated single large layoffs with multiple small ones (hoping to fly under the radar that way) but it’s been pretty consistent since the ‘90s.

Yes, I got three checks, For my vacation time/benefits, salary, and retirement savings. I was all smiles walking out. That place was too much stress.

You walked away from a potential severance? Clever.
