Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Round/Cycle 2 of Layoffs?

Can we trust the incompetent management team that there wont be a ROUND 2 of layoffs? Some folks speculate that round 2 can be a possibility if 4400 quota is not met. Cant trust a word coming from management.

Word from my manager was denial of this being a round and that this will continue for years! Poor strategy on how to transition skills and wanting to get rid of older expensive employees who have slugged it out for years

SAP "Growth" is only attributed to acquiring more companies. Eventually SAP will become so diluted, it will implode. Bill just wants the shareholders to be happy, if that means firing 4400 people, that is what will happen and employees inside SAP lives get wrecked with the stress of they layoffs. What makes SAP so annoying is that they want to pretend to be the "good guys" and give out the image everything is fine within the ranks, when it is just like any other american co. where its a constant fight for survival. If they can at least be honest about their Co. culture, to perspective recruits, that would help.

I was affected by the 2017 layoffs. I can say there will be work for you outside SAP. They pay a nice big fat severance package and getting away from the useless SAP management is great. That is the fat layer they should be getting rid of to save on cost. The sad thing is that you end up losing very competent and experienced staff, where this is most prevalent is the first layer support you get from SAP. All young, inexperienced staff that have no clue how to support the technologies without talking to development. Who knows what is happening behind the scenes. In their product line you can also notice the shortcomings. Half baked cloud offerings, I hate their cloud solutions and it seems the rest of the world do as well : https://www.channele2e.com/business/enterprise/sap-restructuring-2019/

This is an internal leadership problem in SAP. They run brilliant resources into the ground and get new, young, inexperienced cheap people to try and save on cost. The result, sh-- ty products go to market. And the American way of running this company is to push it all into PR, Marketing and BS sales campaigns. SAP has lost the plot trying to keep up with the other cloud companies leaving them in the dust.

My suggestion, leave the losing team and go join a winning team and let old one-eyed pirate Bill drive SAP into the ground.
