They've been happening. Not a matter of "if" but "when" if you're still home-shored.

I disagree with the person who posted that there MUST be a policy about not allowing people to work from home. If you read the policy in the Associate Portal, then you would see that the ability to work from home is at the manager's discretion. They can ask you to come back to the office at any time. There have been multiple instances in the last year where employees have been given ultimatums. If you are home shored, get your resume ready if you don't want to drive to an office.

Communication at ADP has not been good for quite a while now. The rules are constantly changing and the same rules don’t apply to everyone. Case in point this company change in direction. To eliminate home shoring has not been properly communicated from upper mgnt all the way down to the worker bees. I know for a fact all mgmt was made aware of this quite some time tago but many mgrs for some reason have decided not to officially announce to their teams. I would think a major change like this should be communicated to everyone from someone in a very senior role maybe even Carlos himself. This is why we are seeing all these posts here and there is mass confusion about what is happening. It’s all about Communication folks!

@WttFXOX-1rqf - I hear ya! Quack-Quack-Quack. We have to STAY READY, and not wait to GET READY.

Yes. They can even layoff those on leave, but there ARE laws (Federal, not State) based on an individual's circumstance. Some circumstances must be dealt with delicately. Not all have the same employment scenario, and broad brushes never work when painting a clear picture for everyone.

Follow your heart, and prepare based on your NEED to prepare. Know your circumstance, and evaluate your OWN debt-to-income ratio, should you find yourself living paycheck-to-paycheck NOW (not a good look). Make good financial decisions--INVEST!!! You are in control of the outcome no matter ADP's decision regarding your continued value as an employee. Go Forth, and PROSPER.

Oh. Makes sense. Even the employees IN non-One ADP centers are at risk, not just homeshored. I thought it was only specific to working outside of any office. I wonder if THEY KNOW? If they want all in a one ADP Center, that is only a choice of 4 locations. More should be concerned if not in VA, AZ, FL or NJ. Where are other One ADP Centers I may have missed?

I am homeshored and have been told as well that they are requesting remotes to move to a one ADP office. I am safe for now but fear this is happening. It’s all in ADP’s hands :(

Companies can change policies whenever they want without informing employees in advance. It’s within their right to do so sine all employment is at will on both the employer and employee sides. Home shoring was promoted a while back and now adp has pulled back on it and they don’t have any obligation to to provide advance notice to anyone. I personally know a few folks who were layed off last March and were told the only reason was because they were home shored and the company is now going in a different direction. Just like you as an at will emplyee can walk in one day and quit for no reason at all without any repercussions. I’m not saying this is the right thing to do but a previous poster mentioned employment laws but in this case there are no laws that would protect the employees. You can either ride the wave and hope to get a severance package and collect unemployment or start looking for a new job and leave on your own terms. Everyone needs to evaluate their own situation and do what’s right for them. Good luck to all!

Completely prepared. Ducks in a row. Employment options outside of ADP already on the table.

@WttFXOX-kol - Thanks for the concern.

OK. Prepared. Just waiting on ADP to officially proclaim. But, thank you.

How many ducks in your row? Just asking.

The only place this is being reiterated is on this blog. The managers, officers, etc are not enforcing/announcing in many locations. There HAS to be a posted policy, announcement, etc to changes made to homeshored status. Please validate/vet the claims made on blogs. There are still employment laws which govern companies, even in the At-Will state. Either you lie down and believe every voice, or you use your own ability to decipher what is true and what is false.

What will be, will BE. Be prepared, wherever you fall.

I don't have a timeline as to when homeshored associates will be let go BUT I worked at ADP Corp, Roseland for 32 years and I can tell you ALL homeshored associates must go back to a center 5 days a week else they will be gone sooner or later regardless of work performance.....please people wake up and smell the coffee!

As a previous poster has said, it is not about performance but about working from home. ADP simply doesn't want associates to work from home anymore no matter what their performance is. Period.

Obviously, the better the performing associate, the less chance of being eliminated just like in other companies. However, associates working from home is in the process of being ended. Therefore, if you are a remote employee, you are in danger of being let go, no matter what your performance.

It is true that the company is shifting towards removing homeshored employees no matter their tenure or ability to do their job. I agree that it is easier to remove those believed to be underperforming but the management teams have stated that upper management is moving all positions in-house and letting go of remote employees. The VERP was one way to do so en masse. For those employees who are/were around for the last 10 years, we have seen the evidence. Kudos to remote employees who still have their jobs; however, I would suggest keeping a current resume and working on your contacts because it is only a matter of time for you to be tapped on the shoulder.

When the powers that be look at performance levels, without escalations, of those virtual workers, in comparison to in office performance, where support is THERE, the numbers speak for themselves. ADP is a bottom-line, revenue-driven company. It they can get the revenue IN, and secure client confidence, there is no true threat of virtual workers; esp with the subpar performance in the new One Centers. There is much animosity from low performers. STEP IT UP.

I had been told, rather strongly suggested by my manager that as a homeshored employee i should return to the office... i declined. Since then, my office has closed and multiple people on my team laid off. I am still here .. believe it or not maybe they are getting rid of under performers , not just based on location

I left in June and I have to say every one knows working remote has fallen out of favor for some time now. Most departments have told their people they should plan on being in the office 5 days a week. If you don’t acknowledge this than you’ve got your head in the sand and should not be surprised some day soon when you are told you no longer have a job!

Why wait for fate to happen, take control and start looking for another job, the power lies within you!

Don't know exactly when. It is just that working from home has fallen out of fashion at ADP. ADP no longer wants its employees working from home. Homeshored folks will be eventually eliminated. Perhaps someone else can contribute that knows more about this.
