Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Massive Store Closing List?

Most of the recent bankruptcy filings have included a massive closing list upwards of 10-50% of the retailers locations all included in the first day filings. Predictions on how but the Sears/KMart initial list will be?

And yes, we all know it eventually will be a total liquidation, but lets focus on the first day list.

LOL...Kmarts still going strong in the Pacific Northwest. What, you mean the 10 total stores that remain between Washington, Oregon and Idaho? Assuming that store locator on their website is even accurate these days, ten Kmarts in those three states - no matter how well they do at each location - doesn't tell most people they are still "going strong".

I'm sure the 37 Walmarts within 100 miles of Seattle alone are truly worried about those 10 Kmarts.

VzLOUJi-sao That doesn't matter to this company anymore. They just want to sell the property.

Doubt they would close the Kmarts first. All of the Sears have closed for 150 miles around here (Pacific Northwest) but the Kmart is still going strong and is fully stocked.

That would make sense. Shed that now if there's any pretense of saving the company's overall retail operations and try to make a go of the scaled down Sears store like the one at Oakbrook.

there are roughly 712 stores that are not liquidating as of yet by my count, 360 of them are K Mart, They will probably liquidate the 360 K Marts first, then the Sears.
