It's funny when people call IT non critical. It gets to be pretty dang critical when people's systems are down and they can't do work. IT makes the world go around nowadays in all facets of a company yet people call it non critical.

The date is October 31. AM is going to dress up as the grim reaper and do all the layoffs personally. It is a fantasy of his.

Quite possible. I wouldn't rule out early November.

They will conduct layoffs before year-end to make the company leaner.

Employees working in non-critical areas of the company (departments within Shared Services such as Legal, IT, HR, Finance, PAC, etc) have volunteered for layoffs and have been successful in obtaining packages. May be worth asking about if you’re planning on leaving anyway.

It is poor atitudes like that which justify why I would never hire you into Infrastructure Planning. I want good atitudes to complement our team's base of talent, skills and project management expertise. I wish you well in your endeavors, but if you are looking for a job where you can be valuable to Enbridge then you might want to look elsewhere.

I think everyone has already updated their resume and would be happy to leave. The fact is the economy has improved and there is record low unemployment across Canada.

HR would prefer people left on their own so they don't have to pay severance. If they took volunteers, probably 75% of the company would put up their hands.

Is HR accepting volunteers for layoffs? I’m planning on leaving Enbridge anyway, so would be more than happy to volunteer to be laid off, and get a package.

The infrastructure planning guy hits again. If you are really that good and think your employment is secure then you would not come to this page. Troll.

It will be like any other day for Infrastructure Planning. When you are the top value-adding talent of the company, layoffs are a non factor. Perhaps if you focused more on adding value and coming up with revenue generating solutions instead of fear mongering, you wouldn't have to worry about the other stuff.

Mu guess, they will not do layoffs because people are leaving on their own.
