Can any d rate tell me if all nesting areas /splooge booths have been commandeered.......just a t rate
who wants to be informed of any changes for when I get my callback.........thank yoose
2ufe-your bowel movement (BM) is talking to you??!
There will be NO more layoffs of us hard working union guys. You guys that don’t think Schenectady isn’t getting funding then you are crazy. GE Schenectady will be getting a lot of investment funds. There are no layoffs coming that’s what my BM said. And I think the BM would know.
CEOs don’t visit plants they are going to close every couple weeks. They send their cronies to do that. Would be a huge waste of time for him. Use some common sense
Plant manager asked for funding for the plant is smoke and mirrors. The funding is another term for freeing up cash by laying us off again. That’s the funding! By laying us off agin will make the books look a half a percent better. GE has no funding for the plants in the power sector! There is no work!
Stan the man is asking for funding to reorganize the plant. The last time the ceo was here he said he would be back to go over plans to do so.
About the comment about the ceo not coming here about plant layout. Go ask the people working on that model in the front of the building what he said the last time he was here. Just saying.
you union guys are just amazing DO you guys really think anyone cares about your 500 or so membership? Stop the bartching and move on, if you get laid off then go work the Armory. If not then you have your sleepy time cubby hole awaiting you til the next round!
@1tca Why would a CEO that by his own admission knows nothing about power care about the plant layout. He's coming to see if he can use the site for something that might make the company some money, unlike Power.
Done Rates are scared... they know the end is near and they aren't ready for it. Us T-Rates have nothing to lose!!
That article did come out yesterday. But the 2 billion was announced last year in October you id--t. https://www.cnbc.com/video/2017/10/20/ge-ceo-promises-2-billion-in-cuts-in-2018.html
You t rates don’t pay attention to anything do you?
CEOs don’t visit plants to close it if there was no one coming here besides lower level guys then I’d be worried. He’s coming back to review plans on the new layout of the plant.
I predict more along the lines of demotions than layoffs. I can see certain jobs in certain locations with higher pay being done away with and relocated somewhere else on the grounds but for less pay. Then the decision will be to either go work there or hit the street. Those who leave will basically be laying themselves off for good. They will find somebody else who's willing to work that position. The ride was fun while it lasted!!
I smell more layoffs, I bet the reason the CEO keeps visiting our plant is to close it.
@1hpc. You must be one of those special butt kissing kinds of GE workers or a duh rate. This article came out 11/3/2018. No wonder why that scam of a new job code passed with people like you working here.
I think You all must be t rates by the looks of this stupidity posted on here. This came out last year 2 billion in cuts company wide. They are pretty much there. They just cut 3.9 billion by cutting the dividend also. As far as the work being done in France if they were going to higher people there they already have. They are not going to pay 50 million dollars in Jan and then the next month hire all those people when they could have done that before and saved 50 million. That makes no sense at all. Also the argue meant that ge doesn’t want a union shop......lmao really ?! All of France is union and were on strike last month blocking anything going into the factory because ge refuses to hire anyone there. Also did the original poster even read this article. It said absolutely nothing besides people are worried. No sh-- people are worried across all of power. Read the French news papers everyday there’s an article talking about closing belfort down and how scared they are. Also Power headquarters hasn’t been here since Flannery took over it’s been in Atlanta. Also the ceo will be back again next week. A ceo doesn’t keep visiting a site to just shut it down along with no supply chain guys. Also the financial numbers at schenectady are the best in power. Hard to believe I know but it’s true. And where the hell did you pull these numbers out off (200-300) lol? Seriously. Reguardless if the place closes eventually or not go look in the stacking pit. 250 guys total minus sfo isn’t going to get that work done. I really wish people with common sense would post on here. As far as I’m concerned they are paying too much for the quality of t rate they are getting it really shows in these posts.
CEO states 2 billion dollars in cuts. the math is how many people get the axe to get there
@zvt....You hit the nail on the head. The company knew the T-rates would jump at a $1 raise, and they also knew they would only need to pay it for a short while. All we can hope for is significant VRIP's before they start sending people to the street.
More like a plant closing is coming after this new job code those scared T Rates Voted along with those scared D Rates who votes yes. All the smart members voted no. Enjoy the chump change till they close it
