Please can anyone advise in a bit more detail which teams/offices/products got hit Monday 16th in particular? in particular in the International HQ at Hungerford, UK or India Hyderabad.

I would look around and try and find out but keeping my head down...

A customer (yes, they just about exist!) let me know they could not get a response to a sales query last week, have sales been hit by any chance? it must be inconvenient for the customer wanting to spend their $ with us and frustrating that they cannot get a response.

Since the spin-off CDK has destroyed it's brand, alienated its client base and lost ...

Same deal now back at ADP.

Stated in a different thread and repeating it here ... Your manager did not know if this round of layoffs would affect his/her team. Each review cycle brings with it a forced ranking. Then HR, applies their own formula and churns out who is laid off. In many instances, the manager was shocked or surprised by who was lost.

An earlier poster nailed it on the head in regards to longevity of these posts. However, I am hoping that not only are (recently) former employees, current employees, and more importantly CDK customers reading this string. If you are reading these posts and overall sentiments I hope that if you are able to then vote with what you can!

If you are an employee seek a new job before you get laid off.

If you are a customer please vote with your dollars and move them.

If you are an intern I feel sorry for you and please contact your career counselor.

As Brian and Dan de-construct this company the biggest thing that bothers me is the destruction of our legacy of building great products and lasting customer delight.

Another poster earlier inferred a question at Brian and the ELT team along the lines of “what were you thinking and how can you sleep at night?” - ... They don’t care and they also have zero understanding of the technology or what the company they “run” actually runs on. Look at their history in driving companies into the ground in regards to employees and customers.

End of day this was all around cutting expense with the detriment to customers they had to cut $100M. There was no logic on the cuts....Out of favoritism and/or if you made the CTO (Rajiv) and his chronies mad.

I have multiple thoughts and emotions at this point...

1) ELT has NO idea what they are doing

2) ELT will continue to cut and ask for more

3) If you are in Rajiv’s inner circle you can avoid anything

I actually feel sorry for the CDK folks that “survived” the latest RIF as you all are going to be asked to solve the world for the leadership team that is destroying this company and wants it “faster” etc...

The call made direct hit to each emoloyee associated with CDK (HYDERABAD,Pune, etc), Influencing there families. The discussion and each persons experience shared here, would probably last max for next two-four weeks. Post the ceo is happy, company runs as usual. However, few ex-employee still suffer the hit, few re-joines somewhere and few still have no clue. Can we work on idea/policy/poll that defends or resisits companies to take such actions. (Considering the market state of the company too). Let us use this portal to create a solution to this.

This is the first company I've worked for where people are shown out the door the same day. No opportunity to hand off responsibilities, say goodbye to colleagues, etc. Completely inhumane. Where's the motivation for existing employees to give notice? Who would recommend a company that treats people like this?

TES formerly NIS lost all of their upper management and almost all of their middle management and 5 PMs. These people were top performers with great reviews year after year. One PM was only 3 weeks away from their 30th anniversary. It is quite clear that it was indeed tenure and $$ for this layoff. This group will now be merged with the Implementation team, who has no idea what this group does. NIS has always been the money maker for both ADP and CDK, so it will be interesting to see what happens now. I see the sale of CDK coming and MacDonald needs to put a pretty Red bow on it for the buyer. It is not just the company but the customers too. Both sales and management as well as the customers are allowed to treat the customer facing employees like crap. They get yelled and screamed at and the employee is just supposed to take it.

Very sad, very, very sad!

I don't know how these people can sleep at night.

Greed! It's why the middle class is disappearing! But even this GREED will never break the company in full. The customers will break this company. Customers already see the negative impact of Layoffs and Voluntary tribal knowledge leaving. Hope Wall Street see's the same. But probably not.

Competition will seize this market!

No way to sell this company. Greed and desperation reign in for Friday the 13th!

Brian you should be ashamed of yourself. If you aren’t I feel very sorry for you. Shareholders should never take priority over employees. You are responsible for destroying lives, destroying families, destroying customer loyalty and very soon destroying the company you are supposedly running.

The management team for the most profitable companies all realize that it is not shareholders or clients that are most important, it’s the companies employees and they do everything to take care of them.

Brian, it’s time to give your head a shake. Actually it’s probably too late.

Founder of a cdk division that used to be a great company that you have personally destroyed.

Over 30 years ago, ADP decided to get into the Automotive Dealer market by processing parts orders to the manufacturer. A few years ago, ADP decided to spin DS off to it's own Company. That resulted in CDK Global. Since the spin-off CDK has destroyed it's brand, alienated its client base and lost many small groups. Between last Friday (July 5th) and today, the 13th, over 600 have been let go. Brian MacDonald was hired to destroy this company like he did with Shell and Hertz, in an effort to sell it and walk away. This company has no value and shouldn't be purchased by anyone.

That ceo needs to go or will he go down with the ship he commands. I was layed off 2.3 years ago in the 1st round and could smell it coming even then, as something was going terribly wrong. I was 62 at the time with 15 years of service, but totaling 42 years as a tech in the field, and career is done. Went thru the same crap with 3 previous companies, as seems to be the way stuff continues in computers.

Damn man, you make a lot of assumptions. I chose CDK because I had an excellent experience as an intern. I couldn't give two sh--s about the laptops they gave us and such, my decision was purely made because I enjoyed working with my team as an intern and was given the opportunity to work with them again.

To the person who interned before joining CDK after turning down 2 other jobs... I saw how they plied you interns with Macs laptops, free lunches, parties and video game time. Did you really think that would be real life? S---er.

Welcome to corporate America.

I have been with the company for many years and know most of the names that I have found no longer with us. There were a few that were not making the grade but for the majority you can see this was a tennur/$$ cut. Will be interesting to see how soon the top dogs saleries go up.

Worked for CDK for 2 years. They hired some good talent and under paid them. My management always said we were not a call center, however, they ran the operations like a call center. I sincerely feel bad about the layoffs. I left on my own due to the poor pay and work environment. Many of the older ADP employees often said CDK was not being run well compared to the ADP they had gotten used to working for. This company never fulfilled their promise to create 1100+ jobs in Cincinnati. The city of Cincinnati/Norwood should take measures against CDK for any incentives they received since they never fulfilled their promise.

12 people laid off, Pune Advocacy Services. Without prior intimation. Came to office in the morning like everyday. HR sets up a meeting. Next thing we know, we were out. Extremely inhumane.

Wondering why people don't want to recommend CDK as a good place to work, this is why no one wants to see their friend laid off like us. They don't actually care though. Short term gains over stability. It was evident 2 years ago when Brian said the investors were the most important thing over customers. We all know employees come in last then why try?

I was hired less than 4 months ago and was laid off yesterday. Being a recent college grad, I had 2 other job offers on the table that I turned down because I interned for CDK previously and enjoyed working with the employees. How on earth can a company offer jobs to new engineers knowing they will be getting laid off a few months later? Or is it that the executives have no business vision and couldn't predict having to make massive lay offs in the near future? Whatever the reason, I'm glad I kept in contact with other companies during my short stay at CDK

Through last year when I was cut, it was two weeks per year, capped at 6 months severance. Other companies that go through this eventually change this policy to be less generous, too. Hopefully that hasn’t happened yet

This round the number is close to 500 employees. Cutting, Cutting Cutting -not because you were BAD people, because it is a new year at CDK and we HAVE to show a profitable position to our major investor AND the other stock holders. I saw a comment online that said "Pay no attention to the nay-sayers, they were let go for a reason", implying that we are singling out underperforms. This is not necessarily true. directors and Project Managers were ask to cut staff and given numbers (heads). Your direct supervisor made the decision on who to keep and who to lay off. We have to trust their judgement because they work with you and manage you on a daily basis. We realize that in some cases that friendships create favoritism for various employees. Please remember that they will have to LIVE with their choices and will be expected INCREASE performance at the lower head counts with the people they selected to keep, or their jobs will be in jeopardy very soon. This is the way it works in corporate America.

I work remotely for the company I have been a top performer since I started with them 7 years ago. My layoff was a complete blind siding! We were told that our department in implementation was safe because we are the boots on the ground servicing customers. I can't believe they would fire everyone via a conference call. How unprofessional! We were indisposable to them. They can give a crap about us or their clients that they left hanging!

CDK sent my friend a meeting invite - a normal daily thing since she works/ed remotely - and when she joined the meeting, all the other participants were grayed out/hidden... so she waited and finally a recorded video appeared notifying the group that "Today is your last day of employment with CDK".... and then a bunch of blah-blah-blah .... then and HR video appeared explaining the next steps - they'd receive a package in the mail along with prepaid boxes to return any equipment they may have, etc. -- and that was it. That was how she was treated after 40 years on the job. It was inhumane.
