Thread regarding Sikorsky Aircraft layoffs

Sikorsky 2018 Layoff

By now we all have a vague idea of what is going on. Hopefully we can learn more between the next 2 Union meetings. A lot of rumors and conflicting stories out there right now. What have you heard? Do you think that a 2nd wave will close FL? Or do you think we will be back within the expected time? Is LM looking to wipe its hands of a regretted purchase or simply just trying to restructure?

??????????????

Connecticut always has been and always will be the 'Sikorsky Mothership' and will go on forever. Florida has alway been the bastard stepchild whether under UTC or Lockheed Martin. I am proud to be part of Local 1150. I would not have what I have today without their negotiations and support. Good luck negotiating on your own to achieve the same wage as you have now. It is unfortunate, but this is corporate America.

I wonder how long it's going to be before an aspiring (and hungry) attorney looks at our situation and concludes that all of us and our families are suffering extreme hardships, duress, anxiety, etc. over how LM is treating us and just might be inclined to peruse class-action legal action...??? How bad can an employer really treat it's employees before they can retaliate??? By the way, wasn't that the birth of unionism??? Just wondering.....

Sources? What has changed now? I'm so confused! They need to just tell us what is going on.

Idk why they would ( TestRun ) this. Seems like a good way to piss people off and lost time.

It’s all BS. Nobody is getting laid off. It’s a test run in the event they actually have to layoff in the future. It’s also helps to push the dinosaurs into retirement.

They are closing production WPB end of year. LM plans to use the facility to get backlog of production aircraft caught up.

IF LM plans to close Florida it has to find another location to manufacture in/at. Right now LM stores aircraft Greenville SC, a possibility location.

LM is union busting as it always has and alway will do in favor of their own pockets...at our expense. Follow The Almighty Dollar and you will find your answer every time!!!

If you’re on a burner phone, good luck tracking down who is commenting on this forum . Also, the amount of effort required to track down who is posting on a pc or mobile device outweighs the reward.

I AM SURE LOCKHEED MARTIN is monitoring these posts and probably having a laugh in the process.

DO NOT POST ANY COMMENTS OF AN ILLEGAL NATURE.

Yeah, why would you move management that failed miserably to West Palm Beach? To give them a second chance? This time I think LM with toss out the baby with the bath water.

UTC and LM have been looking to close Florida for YEARS. First we had Crest View Florida, THEY failed misserably and for that West Palm received THERE FAILED Management relocated to run West Palm. Then there was New York facility, UTC dumped millions into that facility only to.........you guest it ........relocate there FAILED MANAGEMENT to West Palm Beach along with there dysfunctional DCMA over sight group who also aided in shutting down New York facility. WPB MANAGEMENT is can now take all there "expertise" and head to Connectiticut and help shut them down.
