Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Rumor of Layoffs March 13'th

There has been deep discussions at the ELT level of a global company wide layoff planned for March 13'th 2018.

All of the internal reorganizations that are occurring currently will be completed by end of January. This will allow the ELT several weeks to plan the trimming across the company and start to finalize the layoff plan by February end.

The RIF actions to employees will begin on March 13'th. There is a planned 8% reduction across the company.

Raleigh, Santa Clara and Fort Lauderdale will be hit the hardest in that order.

The whole purpose of this layoff is to open additional requisitions to continue to transform Citrix to a cloud company. The October 2017 layoff did not provide sufficient open requisitions to enable the digital transformation of the company to a cloud SaaS company.

My information is solid and well placed but please post if you have additional information on the March 13'th layoffs.

Rumors started circulating within the company 3 weeks ago, well before this report came out.

Citrix ELT: You are in the process of alienating everyone and many are looking for exit strategies.

Baseless. Every company goes through these difficult decisions. If by any chance you are are insider I suggest you leave citrix and not spread negativity and baseless rumors. This shows up your incompetent evaluation on partially gained information. There are other folks who very much believe in the company as well as the leadership, and are working hard to make things better.

People don’t kid yourselves. DH has proven time and time again that he is a proficient and excellent liar. Remember the no layoff declarative statement in the August GEM followed by a massive layoff in October.

Are you all seriously believing he told no lies during the GEM today.

Can you really believe his no site will be closed comment today.

There will be site closures, the dark New York overlords of EM command it.

From past experience, don't trust Citrix management at all. Higher up the executive level you go there are more and more lies all along.

This is funny. I'm reading a thread that has stated that Citrix's lease ends next month. I rebuted this by showing this was a false statement. This thread has stated rumors from SMB dissapearing to Raleigh closing. It has stated that Amazon has signed a lease and that someone has a copy. The one thing that's not on this thread is evidence. The only definitive evidence on this entire thread is that Citrix signed a 15 year lease on the Raleigh building. That's the only truthful statement on this thread. Here's another definitive statement. Raleigh is not closing. I actually am on the inside. The employees in this company have gone through enough real issues. October was extremely tough for all of us. So I invite you to show your evidence. Don't rebut with some triple executive confirmation that doesn't exist. I challenge you to show up here on March 14th. Whoever you are you will owe a lot of apologies to the Raleigh employees.

remember when elliott management started buying citrix stock and issued the open letter? mark templeton got on stage and said "read my lips: I'm in charge! no one tells me what to do".

two months later...

"hey guys I'm going to step down as ceo and spend time with my family."

then today henshall gets up on stage and says that nothing is going to change, and elliott management is just like any other investor. except for a minor detail that they're on the board...

We already know that ELT LIES in the employee meetings. Those people in ELT aren't Leaders. They are profiteers. I trust the rumors over the lies they try to tell us.

If you listened to the GEM David specifically stated "NO sites are closing."

If he is lying and the do for some reason end up closing Raleigh in this case don't you think this being the second time he has misled, lied to everyone in the GEM there would be a exodus?

Honestly, this whole thread has no bearing...anyone can post. Kind of like Wikipedia, the only difference is Wikipedia has to reference sources.

I don't discount the possibility at all. But we need to gauge the likelihood in a way that makes sense. How much does it cost to break the lease on the Raleigh location? How much does it cost for relocation assistance? How much financial impact will the optics have? Do those make sense from a financial standpoint in the long run?

It may be that, yes. But literally anyone can post anything here. So if you got info it would be nice to know where it came from and the logic behind it. Not asking anyone to give up a source, but "lol trust me this is from the executive level" is meaningless.

LMAO. So you think just because they have a lease they aren’t willing to break it and pay the fee if our overlords see fit to do so? Not necessarily believing the rumor but I’m also not discounting the possibility, either. Unless you are a director level or above in the know, you know precisely as much about what they will do as the rest of us. Get off your freaking high horse; you sound as foolish as the doom and gloom crew.

"Citrix Systems (Nasdaq: CTXS) has also already committed to a minimum 15-year lease contract to occupy for all of the office space in the building."

It's funny when people attempt to sound smart on a board and claim to have inside information. Citrix signed a 15 year lease in 2014. It's public record.

Hay low former teem mates,

I have to say dat I plan my life around dees board. So is accurate not! The information you provide to me now as useful as original version of Metaframe. I look up Raleigh building information and it turn out to be 100% bool sheet. I was gonna use it as a parking garage for my 150 Teslas dat I buy with Citrix golden handshake money. You guys need to get your eeenformation straight next time. Where I gonna park those things?

Source on Raleigh lease being up? That site doesn't mention it and citrix moved in what, 2014? Seems like too short of a lease...

It looks like JMC Holdings (the owner of the Raleigh office) is looking for new tenants. The Citrix lease expires next month and they want someone to fill it ASAP. So far the lease has not been renewed. I'm not sure where the Amazon thing is coming from but the Raleigh office should be highly concerned.

Sorry mates, looks like APJ is getting absorbed into EMEA. I just got a copy of the lease and all the APJ locations are being replaced by Taco Bell Cantinas. They are similar to a normal Taco Bell but also serve alcohol. Not a bad trade off if you ask me.

Hey Mates from APJ. We have the same questions if APJ will be affected. We are in the same situation here with a constantly shrinking Citrix but unfortunately there are no worker protections in APJ for the most part. A reply would be most awesome mates.

Do you know if these layoffs will impact the EMEA locations? We are always concerned with the lack of stability at Citrix but fortunately the workers council in Europe buffers the shock of these regular shrinking Citrix layoffs. After the last layoff people were getting 12-18 month severances.

Thank you for sending over the copy of the lease with Amazon. Sadly, I can also confirm that Amazon will be taking over the Raleigh location on April 2. I'll provide an imgur link shortly with the lease. It was fun while it lasted...

Yes, our fearless leader is always Mr. Honesty himself. Remember last August when he was very specific and categorically denied their would be any layoffs. Then on October we had a massive layoff.

Usually he likes to look into the eyes of everyone he is planning to layoff so he can get that good old executive feeling. If he is visiting your location in the next two months be assured you are on the chopping block.

I am skeptical that all of Raleigh is going. Henshall was on site last week and said multiple times he likes Raleigh. Tech support and services are going to costa rica/bangalore, yeah, but they cant absorb the volume that would happen if all raleigh got axed/reduced/relocated. I believe specific departments might be at risk (especially if you have a florida counterpart doing your job for cloud). The amazon poster smells like a troll.

So can you please confirm if this 8% is going to be an across the board layoff across all GEO's, or if its targeted mostly at Raleigh office and SMB teams.

Yes, the Raleigh building will be completely eliminated. I can't go into specifics about what is happening with Marketing and Engineering but those that are kept will be offered a relocation to the Ft. Lauderdale office.
