Thread regarding Ricoh layoffs

2018 RICOH LAYOFFS

RICOH has made the announcement at the beginning of January 2018 that INSIDE SALES will now be processed overseas in the Philippines. That means all the employees who process the orders for Inside Sales in the US will either loss their jobs or was moved to another team within in the US who hasn't been moved overseas. The billing department will also be handled overseas as well. There were numerous lay offs in this round that started in April 2017 with the layoffs of outside sales.

Yeah, I still work here unfortunately. Looking to get out. Trouble is, I'm having trouble finding a job making the same or near it. But because of the way I'm treated and the way the outlook is with this company, I'll probably settle for something just to get out. And the routing tool they use (OFSC) is more than a joke. Sends calls to other people that are at least an hour away even though I'm a couple of miles away.

"gonna be a very rough ride" for the hard working "non-management" few employees that are left that built a company up for years only to see it bogged down with so many greedy high paid, overtitled, pseudo executives. If you have a "title" you're safe until the knife plunges in your back by another titled person. Never saw so many Sr. ,Executive , regional and program Vice Presidents making outlandish incomes in any business. Now the massive offering company wide for the smoke screened "voluntary separation " is coming close to deadline. Stay with the ship or bail ?

RICOH is now encouraging employees close to retirement an early out with a retirement package. Just found that out this week. Who's next? Seems like downsizing will be starting up again.

Ricoh is micro managing the service side on a microscope. It's very difficult to have a positive attitude in a company that laid off people you know for more than 20 years. Employees are worried that they might not even have a job tomorrow and the management makes it worse to sit all day finding where you are at.

In Ricoh Massachusetts power was handed to managers & supervisors that have no courage, Especially in the field svc / logistics segment of the business. Basically, church mice outside the 4 walls feeding off personal deficiencies that wouldn't last in other companies.

The service dept. especially is treated very poorly. After a number of layoffs and people leaving from being micromanaged to death there are only a fraction of the techs left and they are dealing with 3 or 4 times the work load as before along with an unmanageable escalation syste.m and being tracked by GPS

Ricoh was a company to work for, but nowadays they've made some bad investment decisions. A lot of talented and long time employees were either transferred to Georgia and some who were employed for 30 plus years were laid off. A company that had enough time to make changes but was not able to adjust with the times of technology. Not enough Imagination, ignored to change.
