Thread regarding Office Depot layoffs

Stay away from Office Depot

Talk about hectic work environment! You are thrown into the fray with little training as per corporate orders (can't waste hours on something as trivial as training,) so juggling learning on your own and working at chronically understaffed and already stressful post can be...interesting. Once you get going, don't expect you will see much in the way of raises. They are few and low enough to barely make any difference to your bottom line. What will be raised are metrics. To the point where they are practically unreachable. But that doesn't matter, because by now you've probably been laid off in one of the many layoff rounds in the company. Such a fun place to work at, right?

2 southern new jersey OD stores are closing in May. Corporate told employees all was well and then just came in one day and dropped the news. District managers have already been let go. Supposed to be restructuring but closing stores that are still viable and profitable makes little sense.

Depot days of training is the biggest waste of time. How can we comp in sales with over 250 average outs per day.

Does that mean you've been laid off? I hear there was another round coming... Probably today I would think because it's right before the 3rd quarter results release
