Thread regarding Chicago Bridge & Iron layoffs

Details on this week's layoffs

Approx 72 layoffs between Tuesday and Wednesday. Extra security was brought in to assist. Tuesday was mostly Bldg2 but a few bldg 1. Wednesday will be mostly bldg 1. To date no one has discussed these layoffs with us. We find out whose gone when they don't reply to email...seriously.

No clue what overall USA /Worldwide numbers are

Every thing is secretive all the time. Zero communication.

Reposted from @PlOjTHv-1exd for concise info on layoffs so far. If anybody has additional info, please post here.

They had to cut because PM said there would be a reduction of expenses and the bankers have to see something. It's a show, there is no way they can cut their way out if this. Look how much they spend on interest alone. The good people have already left in the past few years, the management that is there cannot see the forest for the trees. They do not have the vision or the innovation to pull it off. And speaking of innovation that is a complete joke, waste of money, and time. The only thing that come out of that department is a whole lot of hot air, I mean an airhead. Go put an executive degree on it, paid for by the company no less, and say look here we have an expert who can "lead" us to transform the way we do business. Smoke and mirrors.

Most of those laid off seemed to be women; but rock on WLN just so the good old boys feel better about themselves! As a woman, I devoted my heart and soul. I hope there are a few strong women left to balance out all the CB&i a--h---s!

With only 72 people cut out of the woodlands, that is not enough to bring the number down to fit everyone into Building 2 as planned. Going to have to chop some more.

Today- Fab Services was brought into the multi-purpose rooms to have a discussion about Pat Mullen's video...I don't recall much mention of the video, just a show of hands of who watched. The perception of the meeting to me was, more changes are coming (cuts and re-org) and we know what they know(yeah okay) and get to your office and do what you are being paid to do. I'm curious as to who will be doing the work of the people that were cut? Anyone know? That wasn't mentioned.
