Second wave of layoffs is on going right now. 350 layoffs for white collar. What's next for this heartless company? Blue collar?

Working on the hourly side in Schenectady, I really wonder how many outside of this area really know what's going on inside our site? We have had a plant manager that has not just admitted he doesn't know how to manage a manufacturing site, he has proven it very clearly. We have COE's inside building 273, that are more worried about year end numbers for payroll, vs getting good quality products out the door on time to the customers that are paying for said products, then when there is no work for a week or more because of the inability to properly manage scheduling, they don't wanna allow hourly guys to go home with out pay, excused time to help save money?? It honestly makes one really wonder if anyone has a clue whats really going on in Schenectady NY? 10 yrs in the place and Ive never seen it managed so badly, and wonder just how much longer we can stay in business, loosing as much as they claim we are, because we have such incompetence at the helm????

Yes....some very talented experienced engineers have lost their jobs. Where will they land? working for the competition and helping eat GE's lunch down the road.

You got three players on this industry, Siemens , MHPSA , and GE. If these folks are not working for GE they will be working for one of these other two companies. One can only hope if you are a leader at GE that the people you just cut will go some place that will not hurt GE. The problem is you just off people in this last cut that are going to crush your business. I am talking about people with 20-30 years of experience. If, these idiots are smart at GE they best hit the road while they can.
