Kind of like Radio Shack. Don’t make your product better and say your not in trouble, then we are just closing a lot of stores. Not worries. Good bye

that's exactly the path that Devry took.
They slashed all on-site classes except the Gen Ed. and Introductory level courses where they could have large sections. Then they created massive sections of 40 students to run advanced level classes online. They added a video tool and claimed that they have made their curriculum "Tech Infused" and the entire thing became "Devry Tech".
Although, Devry hasn't started pressuring teachers to pass students.
I taught at a local campus for quite a while too. The slide down happened, in my opinion/observation, as Online and "corporate" took over more and more. Administration at the ground campus valued and appreciated instructors, and resulted in instructors going "above and beyond" what was asked.
In the Online environment I felt more of a "placeholder" being told to "sit down, shut up and follow directions" and being taken advantage of. But then adjunct faculty are indeed not valued much by most schools.
At one time UoP was a leader in the "non-traditional" education environment, doing a lot of good. But the profit motive led to its downfall.
Sad.
I used to teach there for 15 years (2001-2016) and the last 2-3 years things got out of control. They did not allow me to flunk students and demanded that I changed grades for certain of them. Once, I had an evaluator who came into my classroom and took over the class discussion. That was unprofessional and uncalled for. My students did not appreciate that and told me that this for-profit university had lacked a common sense all together.
I used to work there. It wasnt a bad place to work but I got laid off as did others on my team.
