Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

LP? Read this!

If you are working in the LP dept. I can give you some good advice. WAIT!

This is NOT a rumor. I have been informed through a VERY credible inside source, that the LP dept is going to be experiencing a major change. ALL levels of LP will be affected.

In store personnel will be reduced based on the market. The LPSM's to be retained will be based solely on their Inventory success/failure. There will be 1 Area LPM to cover 3/5 stores based on geography. They will be paid slightly more (3-7%) but will be responsible for more stores.

LPS's will be laid off.

This is set to start July 29th, 2017.

If EVERY LP was to call in sick or have an injury on July 28th this would send a profound message and make the transition impossible to roll out.

Here are your options if you in the LP dept...Quit...Get injured/sick...wait it out.

Look at the stores in your market and surrounding markets. Look at how many positions will be available and then look at the inventory results for the past 5 years. Those who did better than you will take priority. They will transfer LP's as well so make sure you look outside your immediate market.

Good luck. This one is gonna get ugly! ! !

Our time is limited boys and girls! I wonder if they'll make us compete for the area positions or if they have already picked who gets 'em. Will they give us the same option as the department manager's (until the end of the year to find a position) or will they just walk us out the door?

Tick-tock, tick-tock...I'm just curious on how long the smoke & mirrors of "We don't know of any changes to the LP department" are going to keep up. Sheeesh, we are all adults, just tell me now if I still have a job or not. Why keep paying me if your going to walk me out the door in another month?

My Lowes manager, and director told me not to believe the rumors, i was let go next day.

Total lies and BS

H R had all my paperwork pre printed and even in my maiden name changed 2 months beforw I was let go.

It was planned, lies continue, so they can work you and then back stab you.

So cold and dirty

Got the same type of response from market level saying the rumors aren't true but changes could happen in the "future" sounded like bullcrap to me and something is boiling over soon.

These rumors are not true.

I spoke with someone and they said there are no plans for any of this. Why would Lowes lie? They have been very open about adapting to the changing retail environment and I can't think of any time they have been deceptive before.

Oh so Lowe's is going to finally do what Home Depot did in 2009. Right so let's see how that works out for them considering HD had a 50% increase in shrink and it are up all the cost savings from the restructure and alot more besides. Then HD flopped about for 4 years and ended up hiring most if not all the APS's back and even went back to single store APM's for higher shrink markets. Lowe's might be from North Carolina but they aren't stupid and won't make the same mistake. Stop posting stupid lies and scaring people just so you can get a sick twisted laugh.

I just received an email from the LP Ops support Director in my area . They said they asked our leadership personally and they told him these rumors are not true and the LP department won't be affected. Then he went on to say that doesn't mean changes won't happen in the future. Sounds fishy to me.
